Hey,

Heading off to montreal next weekend from NYC. Imma have flight+ hotel room, so no car. How do I get around town there? Subway? is it convenient/affordable?

thanks.

Hi Sauce.

Great choice of cities ! Montreal is a fantastic place to visit this time of year. I have been to Montreal quite a few times and this is what I can recommend:

How to get around: subway & bus will get you anywhere you want to go. Cheap also.

And so easy to figure out. The Montreal subway system map resembles a Playmobile poster. Nothing like the Paris or New York or London underground with complicated connections and hundreds of stations.

Montreal is a rather small city, very central.

The women are insane. (In a godess speaking way)

Good luck !

I definitely count Montreal as one of my favorite cities in the world. I spent only three days there last summer but enjoyed exploring and partying there.

Club Aria on St. Catherines is lots of fun. Plus, you gotta love all the French Canadian girls.....wow....

ive never been shopping there, considering im from new york it's a bit pointless, but i hear goodfoot and rooney are nice.

but as stated, it's a relatively small city, and easy to figure out.

for the next few weeks there's a film festival going on; i might check it out.

Montreal in the summer is unbeatable. The comedy fest starts this week and theres lots going on. Dont forget to check out the Tam-Tams on the mountain all day sunday. Shopping wise montreal is pretty weak.

Spend some time in the old port for a taste of europe. There is on way you will not have a good time.

St-Laurent blvd above sherbrooke is where the party is. One street with dozens of bars for all types of people.

Also, try Vinyl on Bleury just to the south of Sherbrooke. It's hard to find but definitely a very nice, intimate club with awesome music and beautiful people.

I like to drive in Montreal. Apparently I don't have to pay my tickets because of my American plates, so as long as there's no towing sign I park illegally everywhere. Fairly convenient.
