How short can a leather jacket be?

I was at a second hand shop and found this beautiful leather motorcycle jacket for cheap, but there was one problem with it. The damn thing ended around my belly button (maybe even over it), and my ed47s and looser tshirt made it look like I stole it from gary coleman.

However, I cant stop thinkin about it. It was perfect in the shoulders and chest (a bit snug, but Ive worn tighter), and was in near perfect condition.

My question is just how short can a leather rider jacket be? All I have seen usually end at the belt, but since I wear my jeans on my hips, I had like 3 or 4 fingers of Tshirt showing.

I know confidence is the most important part of fashion, but Im really on the line and I need a second opinion.

moto jacket are meant to be use for riding, so when you position yourself on a bike, you could bend and lean forward without having any excess leather stuck around you belly and cause discomfort while riding, so really, when you buy a vintage moto jacket expect all of them to be around that length.....

you don't seem so confident about it, so you might want to consider holding out. when you settle, you'll always notice the little flaws. i'm a fiend for great tailoring around the chest and shoulders as well. it seems as though the length isn't bad if it is for riding, though i think slim pants would work best for them. good luck.
