shanghai :: relocation tips

last time i was up in shanghai i had a good flick through the shopping/general thread that is up and found it to be pretty helpful.

most likely relocating there in the coming months for work and a rest from western life.

looking for any advice that can be given particularly pertaining to getting a place but any general moving advice would be great.

looking for something like an old apartment or old villa around luwan or huangpu. i know french concession is a little pricier but i'd prefer to be there as i'm going to be living alone and would rather enjoy my place and make it my home rather than just having it be the place i sleep.

the western speaking sites i've looked at so far are ok but i know once i'm up there with some help i'll have a better chance of getting something.

any advice is great.!
