Im looking for small designers/labels beacuse im opening shop and i really want to sell unique stuff not all this over hyped crap at the moment.

I do apologise if this sort of thing is not permitted however if it is please email me at [email protected] with a little info and examples of your work.

The shop will be located in the UK please go to www.custardfactory.com to get an idea of the place etc.

Isn't that statement is a bit elitist? Supertalk might be a trendspotter's wet dream but it doesn't give the final word on anyone's game. These brands are easily accessible on the web if you want to find them, but they'd never get a look in here as the vast majority of Supertalkers simply aren't interested in wearing anything that doesn't already hold brand kudos.

I agree. Supertalk is nice for...talk. But as a definitive word? Pfft. Too much Supreme this, BAPE that, I heart Eternal 811's because some Japanese guy said they were amazing (nice jeans, but there are dozens of pairs that are far superior). I get most of my info. from word of mouth via the "cutting edge" (this is subjective) stores and places like refinery29.

That said, the refinery featured an awesome pair of sneakers yesterday (I think) by Peter Jensen. He is a UK-based designer and he might not be the new of the new, but he only has a few seasons under his belt and I'm loving his stuff. It evokes an imaginary, post-fallout 1950s.

Oh, and sybaritical, do you know of any NYC-area stores that stock this label you speak of?

Hah, sorry about that. I was referring to me. I've seen both of those brands before on, you guessed it, design and art blogs. Consequently, I was saying that I've probably been spending too much time looking at them.

I just worded my first post very, very poorly I see now.

And I agree with Sybaritical. I actually tried to see if I could find anything that you guys might be interested in as far as small labels go, but I didn't come across anything in the short period of time I spent looking.

Edit/PS: Yeah, Sybaritical, that site kills. I've been checking it for a long time now, but since they don't sell their coolest stuff (i.e. their jeans and kooky accoutrements) I never posted it.

hey --- I was just wondering if u're able to make enough money by selling only small labels - I would like to say that I support small unknown designers and I really should because I am one myself --- but in reality after a quick look at my gear --- most of the clothing I have is from pretty well established compagnies.
