MAGIC vs. Project trade show in Vegas

Recommended Posts

I am with a new men's line. We do have an urban flare to our designs, but we are a upscale brand so probably fit best under premium contemporary in Magic. In fact, a year ago, that is the exact section we were in. We have a men's spring line that we want to debut and are trying to decide between Magic and Project for August.

What are the primary differences between the two? Is the Project show in Vegas any different than the Project show in NY? Any insight would be appreciated.

Did a search and didnt find anything that clearly answered my question. What it comes down to is this, why is Project and Magic on the exact same weekend in the exact same city? It leads me to believe that they cater to slightly different buyers or designers. What is this difference?

Because they gear their shows to be different things. I do project for Denim. I might pick up another thing or two while I am there, but most everything else I do for the store comes from Magic or Pool. Proect has a nice flow because of the setup. Magic is like a bee hive where every bee is a booth. It's a little to much. I usually hit the ST Platform, Campground, and walk through Men's PC ust to kind of see if anything looks interesting. In my opinion most of the brands that were churning out interesting contemporary lines have not evolved. As a result of that, I am carrying far less of them this Fall and focusing those dollars more into outerwear.
