this is what it turned out to be like; i can't decide if i want to do a third wash or not, because i'm rather pleased with the color. theres a lot of details on the inner seam that these photos don't show; if anybody cares enough for a complete photoshoot or up close denim fading gradient, lemme know and I'll do a more in depth one.

Those look great, but I wasnt as wowed as I thought I would be when I first saw your thread title just because of the duration of time

Dont get me wrong, they look great, but I was expecting mega contrasting as seen in the Japanese Denim 'porn' galleries that seems to occur pretty much after 6 -8 months according to those type of sites.

I think that's the normal fading you get in that time. The Japanese galleries show some crazy wear, like they take one month for the wear we get in 3 months. To get fast wear you have to be REALLY active all the time. 6 months is usually not nearly enough to get a good fade. You need 1 or 2 years.

Yes but Japan is not a labour economy is it?

I dont think all these trendy Tokyo kids are doing anything that radically different to us in Britain, Europe and US when they wear their jeans?

They are still at school, working in offices (i.e. that is to say, I dont think any of them are building houses or excavating coal mines in their jeans, so there there is a hypothesis to say that Japanese made jeans have different fading properties)

Anyway, who knows.

They look nice regardless.

yeah exactly what i was thinking. do you think it's cause of the denim, or how it was worn.

edit- haha everyone beat me.

I am usually a size 26-27, and I wore a size 28 regular ralf for a looser fit, which might explain for the lack of "diesel 772" extreme contrasting. I could wash it again for more contrast, but I really love the subtle color of the jean. I'll take some more detailed pictures later for those who want to see what happened to the bottom of the jean near the inseam.

I don't care how long you wore those jeans. I think they look pretty good. The color is very rich. I wouldn't wash them for a at least a few more months.

those jeans look awesome. I've been wearing my nudie SSDS for over 6months now, Im very active... walk in the city all the time, but there is hardly any wear on them. I dont think Im going to wash them for at least another year.

chim, when was the first wash performed?

streamline the sickness

First, I did a warm soak at around 8 months in to just see how the indigo fell off the jeans. The whole tub turned blue, but the indigo loss was fairly minimal, so after another month I threw them into the washing machine on hot with some random tide detergent.

It turned out pretty well after that, then I wore it for another 2 months or so on and off and the color became extremely vivid. I threw them into the washing machine again, and have been wearing them for another 2 months before I took these pictures.

They really began to fade amazingly after the first wash, I'd say.
