These are the Evisu Deluxe Single Needle jean – constructed entirely by one machinist with fanatical attention to detail. Made from a unique Japanese selvage denim developed exclusively for Evisu Deluxe, the fabric is rope-dyed with real indigo and the denim is traditional Japanese ‘green-caste’ which becomes more and more obvious as the jeans wear and the inner core of the warp yarns are exposed.

In honor of Evisu Deluxe’s Spring 09 “Kanrin Maru” collection, these jeans have been washed in seawater then dried flat in the sun. Apparently the salt in the seawater hardens the denim and improves the definition of the whiskering and honeycombs that appear with extended wear. These are cut on the new 0038XX Deluxe block with tapered straight legs. It also features button-up pockets inspired by vintage Japanese naval garments.
