i have a pair of black one wash

denim is very textured and lightweight

full cut - good for warmer months - and high rise

unfortunately they don't seem to be available anymore but that doesn't mean they won't make them again in the future

maybe there are some still left in one of the japanese stores

but how will you ever find out?

if only there was someone here who could help you with these things ...

well the jomons are on the top of my wantlist from this "theoretical" japanese buyer

but i may inquire after these as well...at least to see about availability...

do you know if they came in indigo as well, or if they made a raw version?

there was an indigo

i looked for bc4000 indigos in japan a few months back but couldn't find them

but then i also was looking for d1177's a while back and couldn't find those either so maybe some can be conjured for you

45rpm stopped doing raw a few years ago, one wash is as close as you can get now

Proud owner of the black version from last spring, bought the last one from the SoHo store and it cost friggin $519!!! Yes there was an indigo version but I decided on the black one because it looked so damn nice. Although it's the "black" version, it's still doesn't really have the typical black denim look and instead looks like a very dark indigo. They're not joking about it being light weight it is VERY breathable and perfect for summer. The material looks and feels like the great slubby thick denim of the all the other typical japanese brands except that it's paper thin.

I don't know if I'd trade them in for the Jomons. The Jomons look and feel nice, (they fit a lot better, more snug) but I still like the material of the BC4000s MUCH better.

I bought khaki trousers from 45rpm for about $160. It has 2 fasteners on each side of the waist next to your hips (instead of beltloops). The color is very very deep and the construction is topnotch. I love this brand. I almost bought a blue belt as well made from one of the softest leather i've ever touched. i'll try to post some pics of the trousers.

hehe...I think we were being sarcastic...we'd referred to you in another post. Can you check on the BC4000's for me in indigo? Also, did you see the mention of the rumored raw jomons?...just a rumor I take it...

the existence of the raw jomon in the US is not a rumor. they are the same price as the one-wash (754). good luck finding them.

How do the Umii's fit into the model line-up? (denim weight/colour, fit)

Any word from the proud owners how the BC4000 denim fits after a few month's wear? How much do they stretch out? Moreso than other heavier weight 45rpm denim?

since they're looser they won't stretch as much ... but they'll stretch wherever they're tight on you

xcoldricex - no disrespect, i'm in awe of your ability to find d1177's, who has them? i've only seen the smaller sizes

raw jomons? never even heard the rumor

the people at 45rpm always told me they stopped selling raw denim a while ago

the people in the shop told me that they stopped the BC4000 men's line. they only make it for women now. they had BC1000 jeans, but none of them were traditional jeans- probably wouldn't interest anyone here.. but...

i've become acquainted with one of the workers there, so she told me to wait while she went to the store room. she pulled out some AIHIKO's (natural indigo)- these are supposedly discontinued? she had two versions, one with limited edition inner front pockets (red cutesy fabric) as opposed to the normal fabric with R's screenprinted on the inner front pockets. she also showed me a distressed AIHIKO.

Just got my pair of BC4000 Indigo one-wash this week and they are COMFY... my canes were getting jealous so I had to sport one of them just to be fair last night...
