Spruce hoodie -- zipper-stitching repair question

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I was lucky enough to pick up a slim fit royal blue Spruce hoodie for 30% off. However, when I got home, I realized there was a small tear where the zipper is sewn into the hoodie itself. I really love this hoodie, so I want to know if it's possible to repair it myself or through an alterations shop. The first two pictures are of the tear and the last picture is how it should look. What do you guys think?

I asked if there was anything they could do for me, but they said since it was already marked off they couldn't mark it down anymore. I work at a department store similar to Selfridges in the US, so I know if your manager is stingy there's nothing that can be done, so I didn't press the issue.

well depends, if it was marked down cause of the broken zipper ,if it wasnt you could have got 10% off but it would be non returnable, i work in selfridges

Nah, it wasn't the only one marked down. The entire rack of hoodies was marked down, but I think this one just happened to have a tear in it. I asked if it was a return, but the guy said it was replenishment. He also mentioned I could return it.

Yeah, it was from the Oxford street Selfridges. I've been visiting every other week checking on the Spruce hoodies myself, and was lucky enough to grab this one. The rest of the selection consisted of all-whites, a tiger grey (slim fit) or two in medium, and two small tiger-red's (slim fit).

The grey slim fits have the white hoods, right? Ugh. and the red look stone washed? Nevermind anyway. Heads up, people. Everybody better stay out of Selfridges tomorrow, cos I'm going fucking postal down there in the morning.

Only one of the grey slim fits had a white hood. And thanks for the warning, I'll definitely keep clear, haha.

Your thinking into this too much... go to a tailor/cleaner whatever and get them to fix it up. Simple.

You're right... after two glasses of wine I just realized it's just a freaking hoodie. I'm going to check out a tailor tomorrow. I think orginally I just wanted to know if there was a way to do it myself.

Hmm, very few things were on sale. Nothing really notable. The Spruce hoodies were just recently put on sale, however. I think the salesperson called it their "Mid-season sale."

Haha, I was sad at first too, but now it's fixed! Thanks for your concern. This Spruce hoodie is back and better than ever. You'll probably see it posted soon.
