yep.. i need some ideas on how to soften up a hoodie. this is not the regular stiffness that usually occurs after a while, the hood stands out like a cone in my case and you could mistake the whole thing for a rock.

so hit me with everything you got, i've tried some softeners but it didn't really work out that well.

i dont know what the softeners would entail

and i dont know if anything like this would exist but i would suggest finding an enzymatic treatment, something that will physically break down the bonds between the fibres creating a soft fabric. Like tenderizers on meat

what should i do to pull it of, where should i look and what should i look for?

you would soak the sweater in the enzymatic solution, wherein the enzymes would degrade the bonds of the molecules making up the fabric. the more bonds destroyed, the softer the fabric until the garment falls apart.

where to look, who knows. i dont even know if it exists

...wouldn't just washing it with a double dose of fabric softener work?

Or beating it up a bit, crumpling it, sleeping in it... wearing it in?

You could try experimenting with fabric softner, there used to be a thread on here from a long time ago about a method on how to do this.
