    I bought a pair of raw TCB 50s about 10 years ago but sold them some years later, still raw and unworn as the hems were too wide for my taste. They were a size 32 and the waist measured 34”, similar to most other size 32s I’ve bought in Japanese repro brands. Perhaps this was an anomaly or maybe the narrower waist is a more recent thing?

    As enthusiastic and knowledgeable as the good folk here on Sufu are over their jeans, I don’t think a switch from one cotton to another directly influenced their loss of interest in Skull. I think it was more to do with Self Edge dropping Skull from its line-up, which may have been due to QC issues (which may also have included the cotton switch).

    I used to have a Siemens SL55 slide phone about 20 years ago. It could fit into a decent sized coin pocket on jeans. I should’ve kept it as they’re going for about £300 on eBay.

    It reminds me of some of the older Self Edge website pictures where the fit looks great in a photo but may be impractical or even slightly uncomfortable to wear once you are no longer standing still with your arms by your side and start moving/bending your body, raising your arms, etc…

    I’m not certain but I think it isn’t Cone and is from Orta Mills in Turkey

    Turkish-made LVC were various washed versions rather than raw and for some reason, were sized a bit differently as far as I’m aware. I think the sanforized 1967 zip model also may have been manufactured there.
