I’d say keep them until you retire or really need the money Charlie and then sell them if necessary. If a pair of my jeans was worth £5k I’d sell them and just wear a pair of repros instead. Once they’re worn-in and washed, they’re just a pair of nice old jeans anyway.

During a ‘casual’ phase in my early teens, I, like many other urban youth, thought it was cool to dress like middle-aged golfers: v-neck woollen sweaters, perhaps with an argyle print, over a polo shirt or roll-neck sweater, teamed with some Farah slacks and, in my case, a pair of burgundy Kickers! What the hell were we thinking!!! 😂

Living in NZ, you don’t really need to fear anything, other than excessive lockdowns 😆

Denim is fine for patching but not 18oz, something lighter is better. If you use too light a fabric though it may wear through again. This is my experience.
