  1. Neal, you don’t have to immerse yourself in all that coffee snobbery. We buy bags of coffee beans (Caffè Borbonne Miscela Blu) from a local Italian deli, grind them in a Magic Bullet and use a Bialetti stove top. We gently heat organic full fat milk from the farmers market in a saucepan and pour it into a bog standard glass cafetière and froth it by holding the lid and gently pumping the plunger up and down (a friend who worked in catering showed us this trick). Once done, give the milk a tap and swirl in the cafetière and pour gently into your coffee. You can vary the amount of coffee and milk if you prefer latte, cappuccino, etc. For a quick fix, I’ll just have a coffee bag (loads of options around now) and either drink it black or add a splash of cold milk. EDIT: we always use water that has passed through our Berkey filter.
  2. I see it more as more of a battle than a mere contest. #WomBat
  3. That’s one of the others, there are multiple, it’s a family tradition.
  4. Voice-of-Reason is my middle name. The upside of all the above is that many of the Denimbro crowd migrated back/over to Sufu and here we all are again, a big happy denim family!
  5. ^ This is how I wear mine, I’m a traditionalist. Now I’ll wait for the usual hecklers to ask me to show them the fit pics… EDIT: fantastic photos @buler, thanks for sharing them.
  6. ^ I’ve bought from that seller in the past. It’s a store and the descriptions and measurements are usually very accurate.
  7. ^ I have a pair of these Red Wing Chelsea boots in ebony harness leather (not my photo).
  8. Here we go… couldn’t wait a whole 3 months for another pair of Pizza jeans! 😆
  9. Agreed. They look good, keep ‘em PBT.
  10. Banned! Criticism of moderators will NOT be tolerated. 😆
  11. I think I might implement some of that moderating style over here…🤔
  12. ^ it’s amazing the lengths some people go to over buying a pair of jeans. They probably spend less time and effort than this when buying a house! 😂
  13. I’m eagerly awaiting the first request for a 44W and sub-20L!
  14. ^ Why wasn’t I consulted on this first?! 😆
  15. @Broark and @Dr_Heech should know, they were the moderators who oversaw the entire culling 🤣
  16. ^ This is an interesting concept and I must’ve missed (or simply forgotten) that discussion on Denimbro - I think we can mention it by name. I might have to take a look and see who suggested it! Those pocket bags also look similar to those on my Sugar Cane slack denim pair although I think they may be slightly different. I can’t be bothered to check right now though as they’re stored in a cupboard in a ziplock bag along with a gazillion other unworn pairs 😬 EDIT: found this photo online, the fabric is different.
  17. I’ve gone back and forth on this too. I initially thought that 1001XX and 1000XX were similar (if not the same) late 40s/early 50s cut with different denim weights, 1000XX being heavier. However, I now think that each cut may be slightly different and the double number suggests that it is, for example, a 1001XX cut made with heavier 1000XX denim, or vice versa. But that’s just my take and I reserve the right to be completely wrong! 😆
  18. Laurel wreath donut buttons and painted arcs are my favourite features of WW2 jeans but sadly, unless it’s LVC, the latter are increasingly difficult to come by.
  19. @bartlebyyphonics I’m still walking around in (denim) shorts, t-shirt and Birkenstocks. Is SE London significantly colder than NW?
  20. I think you may like a looser fit. What I meant about the v-insert is that it is a different fabric but simply overlaid on the sweatshirt fabric. Other sweatshirts have a v-insert that is a different fabric and sewn into a v-shaped gap in the neck of the sweatshirt. I’m glad you like yours but I would probably take anything over mine.
