Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.
Cold Summer replied to cmboland's topic in superdenim
Yeah, I know this is my cynical side talking, but I feel like some brands/retailers are taking advantage of the tariff situation for performative PR flexing. On the one hand I can't really blame Iron Heart for charging what the market is evidently willing to pay for their products, but it's a bit egregious when it's easy to find that the Japanese retail price is vastly lower than the international markup, beyond what can easily be accounted for by shipping/duties/etc. For myself (and I suspect, most denim fans who don't buy into the "ultra-tough" mythology of the brand), IH doesn't offer me a good value compared to brands like TCB or buying secondhand. I have enough jeans and other casual clothing to easily last me through the next decade or more (factoring in routine repairs, etc.), so I'm not especially bothered by how this tariff situation affects my clothes-buying habits. -

I was looking at the same pair more than once! There are some on Yahoo as well from time to time but they don't get cheaper (although the Leepros are loss coveted than the other ones)
-
That would be great thanks a lot. I'm leaning towards the 47 then as I have fullcount 0105 and TCB50 so maybe the 54 being on the wide side would be just replicating those fits
-
Hey man yes I can do, no problem, will probably be over the weekend if I can't do it this evening. I've only been wearing mega wide At Last jeans for a while, but I do like both of the XX models. Your summation is pretty much right, with the 47's being more vertically leaning, and the 54's being a touch more stout and wide. There's not a lot in it, but enough for the style to be materially different (to us, at least). As always, Warehouse's own measurements on their site are pretty bang on.

Yeah it’s so cool they aren’t going to gouge people even more. So generous of them. It’s the furthest thing from cool and it’s sad that it’s applauded at all. - Today

Hi @Alec Leamas Any chance you can share your measurements of your 54 and 47s? Are the 47s really much slimmer in the leg compared to the 54s? The rise seems to be higher as well for the 47s but I think the 54s may still be quite a high rise? Struggling to choose between these two fits

@beautiful_FrEaK Quick ones at work, hit me up, if u want more. Not the biggest fan of the back paint, glad it's not that loud in person

Obviously Kei on the left but pardon my ignorance, who are the other 2? Reminds me I need to make sure I grab some of the all black Flying B's in the A/W release! -

Looking for sizing advice on MiJ converse. How do they compare to the chuck 70s? I’ve read mixed reviews on sizing some say they run small other say big. -

@airfrogusmc Do they stretch easily in the waist? and do you think one could get away with going true to size in these
-
Wow, I’d love a pair of those!
-
I'd say 36 too.. i can swing a 38 or a 40 in these.. 38 over a tee which looks better but i wouldn't be able to wear a sweatshirt underneath or a 40 for a more trad / comfy workwear look.. i would never be able to shoehorn my ass into the one above.

@Thanks_M8 please post more pics of that jacket! I am looking at a Leepro jacket from Denime from time to time.

They sort of have too. The mark up would likely make their items even more unreachable. -
My experience with the whitesville 2-pack has been similar in that the length shrinks about an 1" and the shrink in the body width was not enough to really make noticeable difference...This is with a cold water wash and air dry. I did end up drying one and it shrank a lot more.

I've been climbing less but feeling stronger lately I tore a pulley in my ring finger earlier this year and the rest I took during the healing process really helped me Occasionally taking longer breaks is good - all of that bad muscle memory can potentially get wiped out and remembering you're ultimately there to enjoy yourself helps, too My gym has also left me feeling humbled lately, and it's most certainly lit a fire

Given those measurements what’s our guess? I’m gonna say 36, unless SC sizing has changed a good bit since then. @chicote I was considering and wanting it to work, but it’s just past the point of obvious I shouldn’t

^ Thanks for looking out! I have a m11026 already that I got a couple years ago, one of my favorite jackets! Whoever is reading this and can fit in the one that’s still for sale should definitely get it, it’s a beautiful and versatile jacket.
-
The M11026 (506) version still seems to be available. I think that it's more or less the same size
-
It looks perfect @okimoto .. i think your synopsis is spot on, these jackets do tend to look better in photos when they're a little more fitted but that doesn't usually equate to comfort, especially when you're bending over and they ride up at the back, if it's had a recent wash, it might gain a cm here and there.. The size is always on a neck label.. it's thick and uncomfortable so folks cut them out.. you can just see remnents of yours to the right of the patch.. the other size label which i was referring to.. ..is sometimes found here.. alas, missing from yours. Thanks for the sizing
