  1. Past hour
  2. The city centre is most definitely not glam but has a certain edgy character. There are big issues with homelessness, poverty and all that comes with it... like loads of larger UK cities. Not that the government give a shit about people and places like this, so it could only get worse. Yeah I’ve made a similar comment… geezers driving around in a brand spanking new Ferrari, living in a simple abode. Many of the folk with the fancy cars choose to live in multi-generational houses that were bought years ago removing housing costs for them. Some communities choose to stick, and live, together. Also due to the shortage of employment opportunities, there’s entrepreneurial business spirit in the place. Hence there’s disposable income for fancy wheels, for some folk at least. I’ve seen a mix of housing across the spectrum in Bradford e.g. proper poverty on big estates where repairs aren’t top of the council’s list (could be what you saw), old terraced housing much of which is multi-generational living mostly looked after, and go a few miles from the centre but still within Bradford and you’ve got ‘posh’ places like Ilkley, Burley in Wharfedale, Addingham etc etc where there are loads of £multi-million houses and wealth. Definitely an interesting place.
  3. Today
  4. Unless it's a Toyota, according to a video I just watched...
  5. I've never been to Bradford city center.. it looks quite nice (much nicer than Sheffield city center) ive driven through the outskirts quite a lot on my way to Malham / North Yorkshire moors.. there's some proper squalor, rows of houses with rotten windows, guttering hanging off, water pissing down the wall, yellowing net curtains held up with cobwebs, burned out sofas and fridges in the street.. as poverty stricken as a neighbourhood could get yet they have brand new Range Rovers and BMW M3's with gold rims parked outside?.. i understand the 1980s philosophy of rappers who've never had shit spending their first pay cheque on a fat gold rope but in poverty stricken Bradford, it's taken to the extreme where they're choosing to buy a £100k car over a £100k house.. even though car-onomics tells us that car will be worth naff in 3yrs time.
  6. the fabric pattern on this shirt is so subtly complex and pretty. i have the black western version. pity it's sized for an impossibly slim and tiny salaryman with a skinny chest but wide shoulder and super long arms
  7. Yesterday
  8. With the Indy boots too... not sure if those are 505 or the black S40s, but they look good in this light.
  9. Back from the Midwest Great Lakes / Union Special / Hollows / Cane’s / Frank’s
  10. It seems like they went through a pretty significant rebranding around 3–5 years ago, from more general (non-repro) workwear to more modern streetwear / workwear, with wider cuts / sleeker details / a pretty big price increase I’ve been tempted to try them out a few times
  11. That does look like the LF44 denim, nice pickup! I still haven't gotten around to washing my SO02 pair yet, been trying to practice some delayed gratification. I'll wash them once it cools off maybe.
  12. Not today but last week... Ladies and gentlemen, the UK’s 2025 City of Culture… Bradford I like the place, it’s full of diversity and character… screw the haters Loved this collection of photos from the 1980s in the Lumb Lane area of the city… on show at the Science and Media Museum Tower of Now is in the city centre… commissioned recently to celebrate the city's diversity And then a Caribbean lunch at a nice little food hall (erm Darley Street market, rather than Greggs this time)
  13. Jeans came in, same dark denim & pink-selvedge line as my jacket - LF44 I believe @Broark? Seller had washed pretty gently but I needed a fair bit more shrinkage for a size 34 to work, so chucked them in a 40 wash / 1600 rpm spin-cycle and a short run through the dryer on low heat. Definitely brought them to life (making me tempted to give the jacket the same treatment but don't need the shrinkage with it). Fit is good now and not too short in the inseam luckily. Looking through old Mercari listings (trying to gauge what shrinkage other people might have gotten) I spotted the same lot number visible on an older listing for a still raw pair, so I'm actually the third owner it seems 😅. Some before and after washing (with a day's wearing in): With the jacket (which is tub soaked only). It's the only matching denim tux I own but still doesn't look like it matches 😂. Well at least for now anyway.
  14. Someone mentioned ‘Labor’ already, there was also ‘Dowluck’
  15. What was the final shrinkage and stretching of this denim? I think I saw it shrinks less?
  16. My impression is, that while SC and BR are more work wear military repro, Gold is a less constrictred brand, perhaps a bit more fashion and artsy. Perhaps what Made&Crafted was with Levis Vintage. I think, they're also on a bit higher price level.
  17. A Chilean friend of mine (who's lived in the UK since his teenage years) said that when he was a kid back in Chile, he would grab a couple of geckos and let them bite his earlobes.. once they gently bite you let go and they won't release their grip if they can't feel their feet on the floor so he'd be walking around the house with a couple of geckos dangling from his ears
  18. Not directly but i've posted about them once or twice over the years
  19. I wasn't being facetious at all Martin, l genuinely thought a gecko wasn't a lizard (like a salamander) so my bad. Enjoy your break
  20. Some M-series jackets (Type 1 and 2) from the linen patch era if anyone can make a 51 cm chest work. Sleeves seem a little short though unless they are measuring armpit to cuff M11026 【M品番】 SUGAR CANE 【1st 大戦モデル デニムジャケット/M11026】 シュガーケーン デニム ジャケット ファースト Gジャン 25070179 item details | JDirectItems Auction | One Map by FROM JAPAN M11027 【M品番】 SUGAR CANE 【507 2nd タイプ デニムジャケット 】 シュガーケーン デニム ジャケット セカンド Gジャン 25070509 item details | JDirectItems Auction | One Map by FROM JAPAN

    Denime

Yeah i jumped on a pair of 224 knowing the denim was ceasing to be produced (goddammit marketing gods, shaking fist at sky...) and I do like a 15oz denim.
  22. That’s why I bought them, was in the market but got the warehouses instead. The fact that they are fast faders was appealing to me. I was always on the hunt for a pair before the acquisition but they were impossible to find in stock, and there was never much info on them. They were cheaper than most other brands too. I’ve been eyeing up used pairs.

  24. Anyone have any experience with Toyo Enterprise's 'Gold' label? I was browsing Toyo's website and came across it -- never heard of it before, but am intrigued...
  25. Just got back from a couple of weeks in Bali, there was just one day when the clouds burned off around Mt. Agung to reveal all of its 9000 ft glory
