Sistere SS10 1-Piece Twist-Strap Leather Bag

Up for sale is a calf leather bag by Sistere, from the current Spring-Summer 2010 collection. Sistere is a fairly recent Japanese brand from Kyoto, and i think it pairs well aesthetically with The Viridi-Anne, Devoa, and Individual Sentiments. "Sistere" is a Latin word meaning "to persevere."

This bag is made of a large, very soft piece of baby calf leather, which was vegetable-tanned in Kyoto. The leather is very soft and the color is a deep black. The end is twisted to form a helix strap, and it's tied to an oxidized O-ring and clamped by a metal coil on the other end. Laid flat, it forms kind of a half-moon pod shape (but fatter and more substantial). Two silver riri zippers to open it very wide. Inside is the reverse of the leather. It's said this piece is handmade.

It can hold a fair bit, but i don't think it's deep enough for a laptop. Ideal for light travel or an everyday bag. Worn diagonally like a messenger bag, it hangs by the waistline. It's soft and forms to the body and it looks great when worn around the side and back.

Sistere has done a number of 1-piece items, such as shirts, jackets, twisted leather sandals, and of course this leather bag. Sistere is a very impressive line, and i wouldn't be surprised to see more of it in the future. It's sold at Barney's in Tokyo, Isetan, JasMB, etc. Pricing is similar to The Viridi-Anne...here's some photos of their other work to get an idea about the brand.

Excellent condition, unworn but the tag separated (will come with original tag + sistere garment bag). My own pics will come soon..my camera won't start but i'll grab my backup tomorrow.
