Japan shopping guide

hey there,

i planning a trip to japan. having a look to all the major cities there and checking out some nice stores.

does anyone could tell me which are the best shops in the major cities?

favorite brands are raf, margiela, robert geller, jil sander,..

would be nice if someone could give me a few hints

its not just tokyo but more the other big cities like fukuoka, osaka, hiroshima, aichi, etc....

maybe someone else ?

osaka and tokyo will be the only cities where you will find high fashion / maison labels

As far as Tokyo, I bought the SuFu guide and have been reading through all of the threads on here. All I really need is street address for the denim and sneaker spots..not directions. I have this pretty legit Tokyo map I bought from Amazon.com, which has an index of every ward/zone in Tokyo.

Bold question...but what is the best sneaker shop in Tokyo? (Think: St Alfred in Chicago, Goodfoot in Toronto, etc.)

directions are much better than street addresses in tokyo... it's not like other cities where there's a pattern to the street numbers, basically on a block the buildings are numbered in the order they were built.

even with directions you will get totally lost and have to ask people for directions. get ready for some blank stares and general confusion.
