there's an ebay seller that deals in AA gear--------it's about 10 percent off. I'd find him for you, but I am trying to get in one last post before I clock out

the employee discount for AA is 50%------------so befriend them, buy gear.

IMO, the price point @ 50% is just about right-------------ever since I got that discount, the regular price seems too much. I mean, their hoodie drawstrings aren't even tipped.

pssh!

Definitely reccomend them! I order over 100 dollars worth of stuff and everything came very quickly and not one fucked up piece of clothing. All the shirts fit the same, Jackets fit the same and the Polo fits great. I ordered from Andrew Christian on Amazon and ordered 3 pieces and 2 of the 3 pieces fit like shit.

BTW they carry the 50/50 shirts. They got em just when they released them on the site. So I am sure they will have the tri-blend shirts soon.

i was never a fan of AA

i think people just like em for their slimmer cuts , and thats the only real reason for their popularity

that and the softcore porn ads

word------last summer at the Little Tokyo store in LA, they had a photo book full of naked Asian chicks, but I can't find it anywhere on the East Coast. And I googled like crazy. Any leads?

It's not for me, it's for my pal, a photography student or something.

Quote: I've gotten two zip hoodies from them and both kind of bend along the zipper near the stomach. Is this an AA thing or do they just have especially warped ones?

that seems to be a problem with every zipup sweater i have ever encountered that i have ended up drying.

even the heat from washing warps the zipper due to the shrinking of the fabric surrounding the unforgiving zipper

thats true that its made in the USA, i think thats a major selling point, but they've moved away from advertising that...

it is quite big among the indie / emo scenesters too

and it is cheap, but some pieces cost twice as much as lets say H&M or gap(on sale), and the quality isnt that much better if =at all

I ordered a Tee and the sides of the shirts they were stitched crooked. Then the track jacket I ordered had one sleeve that was longer than the other. Plus they have like no customer service.

About the zipper thing. I wash em in cold water then dry them on low heat for like an hour or so. That way they dry just enough that they arent damp anymore. But I had that problem with the first track jacket I purchased.

when i saw this thread title i was like, "oh good, someone else having trouble with american apparel's quality control...or lack thereof"

i swear, every white AA tee i have has holes in the armpit after 1-2 washes...also received a thermal top that had what appeared to be highlighter stains on one sleeve. awesome!

I hear it can be difficult to concentrate on stitching shirts and hoodies while sucking off your boss.

...never done it myself...but one can imagine.

AA is a strange company indeed...in many aspects.

thought i'd spread some misinfo

overheard a boutique owner complain that bulk orders of AA gear result in absurd inconsistencies in color

hear that American Ap and http://www.alternativeapparel.com used to be buds in NC but now do not get along

supposedly the latter is better than former

not that I care

Has anyone here ever bought an American Apperal polo/collard shirt? If so, are they worth the money?

Agh, well I have to buy an Aqua colored one which they don't have on that series. But thanks for the advice.

its a hole in the wall (forgot the cross street) maybe close to Eldridge in the LES.

it just says M. Friedman on the awning.

don't expect any hot 19 year old girls or slim-jeans-wearing hipster kids inside. just piles of moldy cardboard boxes and long-bearded hasidic jewish men who probably will ignore you for a half hour. just like Supreme, only not as "cool".
