Don't know the name of the font by heart, but it's also used for The Fabolous Life on MTV. You might want to try http://www.dafont.com.

That's not Avant Garde, the proportions are different, some glyphs too (compare s, k etc). There are literally hundreds of Bauhaus faces in a similar vein, but this one is pretty close to House Industries' Chalet 1980 (Paris). I suspect they took that and built an AG/Futura-style t from the l.
