How do levi's 1947 501XX selvege fit compared to imperial kings?

they are totally different

a 1947 501 is more classic fitting.

an imperial king is a looser fitting jean with a VERY slight bootcut, about 1 cm wider than the knee. similar to the nudie rainbow ralph.

why are you asking the difference between the two, are you thinking about getting both? they are very different jeans.

I just compared my 36" waist LVC 47's(which shrunk to a 34") to my 34" Kings

I laid down both jeans and they are almost identical at the top of the jean (waist & upper thigh) The biggest difference is after the knee. The Kings have a much wider opening when compared to the LVC's.
