Hi so has anyone hemmed their denimz into capris? If so, can you post some pictures of the fit? Cause I really want to choose a pair of my jeans to transform into capris, but i'm nervous to mess it up. I don't know if this is a popular thing to do nowadays, but i guess it's worth a try. Thanks!

First rule: don't call them capris unless you want to be hammered for being a total queer. They're 3/4 pants. I do it because they're easier to cycle and work in and it's pretty common here. Your mileage may vary.

I've done it with a few pairs, and I'm about to do it with my sexfh05's. It's not difficult--I just make the length with chalk and then use fabric scissors to cut off the excess. I had one pair hemmed and... it looked... wrong. It's better to just cut it and sew or apply a tiny bit of glue to the seams so they don't begin to come apart.

I've done it only with selvage jeans and the edge doesn't roll up. The only non selvage pair I tried it on, the edges rolled up and looked stupid, so I had it hemmed. I don't know if this is idiosyncratic to my jeans.

Make sure you do it on a pair with a cut/taper that won't make it look really stupid.

I've never ever seen a dude in capris of any sort that looked anything resembling good. It always looks fucking awful. Sorry.

haha ic I respect that. Yeah i'm a little hesitant as well cause i know it rarely ever looks good. But i figured what's the harm in trying? Other than losing a pair of dior 19cms... this had better work.
