Problem With Stomach

Hi guys! I have a serious trouble with my stomach. My doctor said me get Loperamide. What you think about this drug??? Is it really good? He gave me this link for full information.

P.S. Problems began after I got milk shrimps and beer.

loperamide is anti-diarrhoeal. Basically it works by halting the movement of your gut so u stop shitting.

how long have you had the problem for? what happened to your stomach? did you get diarrhoea/vomiting?

if its gastroenteritis (normally a virus) from eating something dodgy (dunno wat milk shrimp is) then its best you dont take the medication cos all its gonna do is freeze up your gastrointestinal system and the bug thats causing you to feel sick is just gonna stay in there. For stomach viruses then teh best option is just to let that shit pass out of your system. drink plenty of fluids (or gatorade or other ion-replacing drinks) to avoid being dehydrated, then just let nature take its course and shit out whatevers causing u to feel ill. Take a few days off work/school/whatever and become friends with your toilet.

I'm not a doctor (yet) but i know for a fact that anti-diarrhoeals have not been proven helpful in eliminating stomach viruses. If you've been having this problem for a long time, have been shitting blood or get regular flare ups of this condition (which you haven't even described properly) then there is a slight possibility that it may be inflammatory bowel disease, but thats probably not the case given that you said you got sick after eating shrimp. yeh don't go back to that restaurant either...
