Largest Raw Slevage Denim

OBC,

I'd check out some APCs... I'm a 34 or 36 when it comes to jeans... and I ended up a size 33 in Rescues. The 34s, 35s and 36s were just too large. Remember, for APCs you want them snug, as they will stretch out.

If your thighs are on the large size, stay away from the New Standards... and probably the Rescues... you'll probably be good in some English jeans, though I didn't bother trying them on, I think they are cut larger.

In any case, you'll need to try them on... or just go the cheap route, and pick up some Levis 501xx jeans... they'll def. have your size, but keep em raw, you won't like em soaked. Break em in, and keep wearing... they get nasty, send em to the dry cleaners... and MAKE SURE THEY DRY CLEAN THEM. Again, buy as tight as you can manage, as they'll stretch out.

As a point of reference, My size depends on the cut and day of the week, but my Nudie RRDS are 36s and I could have gone smaller. For dress and casual pants... I'm anywhere between a 34 and 38 depending on the designer. Again, when scavenging the sales racks... grab all the sizes in a range and head to the dressing room, you may be suprised what size you fit in to.

Happy Hunting

I'd head over to Kohls, JCP, or Sears and grab yourself a pair of Levis 501xx. Its a good starter pair, I copped one though I soaked it and ended up hating the color. I'm not sure you're going to find anything else that will fit you. There should be a wide range of waists and lengths. I remember trying on a pair of 40s, as if you're gonna shrink em, you're supposed to size up, and they were swimming on me.

The Levis Site should lead you to the right place

Those Iron Hearts mentioned above are mail order, if I remember correctly, so you won't know if the 40s will fit you.

Uniqlo - sadly haven't been in there, as I don't get up to NJ that much any more, but a trip to Menlo Park Mall could be fruitful. I haven't seen anyone mention Raw jeans at the US Uniqlos... maybe there was a one wash or slightly distressed pair that may work.

I saw some 1/2 selvage rigid Nautica Jeans at a Ross or Marshall's Store.. they had all kinds of sizes. They were "relaxed fit"

and, I can relate to your situation. This time last year I weighed in around 270 at 6' 1" tall. I was squeezing into size 40 "lowrise" bootcut jeans (which are usually a lot bigger than what they say)

In the last 8 months.

I went vegetarian (forces you to watch what you eat)

I quit eating fast food. (this is the main thing that helped)

I started weighing myself everyday.

I try to walk or jog a few days a week

I started doing crunches

I now weight 209.5 with about a 36" waist in most jeans... rigid skinners are 38's, Zathan's are a loose 36.

you can do it... and it will reward you in far more than fashion.

I beginning to question your commitment to Sparkle Motion

Get thee to a gym, I say! Dieting alone won't keep you slim and denim-ready. You gota throw some weight around. The iron kind, that is. And cardiovascular exercise is a must Eat big in the a.m. and consume smaller but steadier amounts throughout the day. If you gotta have pizza and all that, save it for the weekends. Make it a treat for all that sweat you've been leaving in the gym. No, this doesn't mean gorge yourself. Enjoy yourself, but always eat smart. And give up the booze. Nothing good can be said about it. Sorry. Booze stores itself as FAT. Booze fat is deadly. You don't need it. Try this if you've got to drink- for every drink consume two glasses of water. In fact, before you take a sip of that first drink, down a glass of water, it will fill you up. Make two drinks your limit. Period. Or make light-beer you beverage of choice. And when you begin jonesing for barfood, the absolute worst shit in the world (does anyone really need deep-fried potatoe skins and nachos?!), it time to exit the bar. And please, no soda. Ever. Booze and soda, very bad news.

With respect to your one-time vegetarian diet, I'm sorry, brother, but vegetarians never look quite healthy to me. Perhaps they are not taking all the supplements they should be. I agree that one may lose weight in this manner, but I've never met a vegetarian who managed to keep it off.

G'luck!
