The Coat:

Engineered Garments’ clothing items are always of the highest construction and quality, this coat is no different. The outside of the coat (the shell) is made of a very plush and soft, corduroy-like cotton brown fabric. The color is warm, bright and radiates in the light with its subtle sheen and it remains bold and sleek in lower light conditions. The front of the coat contains 8 large primary “button down†buttons, with 4 buttons on each side of the jacket opening. As a result, the coat can be buttoned down from the left or the right.

There are two chest level slit pockets, and two lower front, flap pockets. The sleeves are full and snug with a warm lining. There are two wrist buttons per sleeve along with a single strap per sleeve. This allows for the wrist opening to take have up to three different sizes, which is great depending on the style you are shoot for. The straps also allow you to fit the sleeves to various arm lengths by slightly “bunching†the sleeves.

The coat’s collar flushes up along the neck; however, it can just as easily be folded down to reveal the fluffy, faux fur which lines the entire inside of the coat. There is also a back of the neck strap to allow for more customized wearing. The inside of the coat is superbly soft and supple, with a fur all throughout, there is also a single pocket along the inner left side of the coat.

I could go on about the details of the coat, how great it is, how much I’ve loved it and how you won’t regret the purchase but it wouldn’t be enough. This coat is great! Cool, stylish and sleek, while with the right attire it could have a more rustic look. It’s very nice versatile very limited coat .

Take a look at the pictures for more detailed viewing. The model in the pictures was about 5’ 6â€.

Engineered Garments

The Label: Created by New York based designer David Suguki, Engineered Garments took its brand name from a patternmaker hired to draft the first round of patterns. She claimed that the clothes were not designed but engineered due to the vast amount of detailing involved in each garment.

The Look: Featuring clean lines, technical constructions, immaculate detailing and a low-key fashion forward vibe, the Engineered Garments look comes directly from American sportswear of yesteryear. For Japanese creator Suguki, clothing coming out of America when he was growing up was an interesting blend of innovation and the latest in industrial engineering. He began to appreciate the flaws in American made clothes and thought they defined America in a special way. Hence, Engineered Garments pieces all have a natural, deconstructed quality with details from American sportswear, outdoor clothing and military uniforms.

i love new york based designer david suguki

Yeah his work is always well crafted, like this coat, it feels so right, and looks even more right, in the dark or in the light. I'm a little remiss to let it go.
