Does anyone have experiences with H&M prices in relation to their location?

A friend of mine told me that an H&M in jersey would have lower prices than NY, does anyone have any input on this?

Doubt it, but there is no sales tax in NJ.

Im trying decide to buy here in CA or wait to go to NY for the better selection im guessing, although the prices may be higher

my friend works at H&M in bev center. he told me all H&M prices are the same everywhere, even internationally.

Yeah... I'd wait for the better options in NY. There are H&M's everywhere and usually have better stock than the ones in Cali.

Also, a flagship TOPMAN store is supposed be opening in SoHo this Fall. If you're there when it opens up, it'd be an awesome stop.

In NY, usually, if one item costs more than $100, you'd get tax.

Otherwise, there's no tax.

all the H&M's in NJ that i've seen don't have mens sections. The only ones with mens sections are the big ones, like in the city.

I think that you're only taxed the difference, though. i.e., buy something that costs $115 and you're only taxed for $5 of it.

i've never seen so much sales tax misinformation in one place before so:

NJ - no sales tax on clothing or shoes, period.

NY - no sales tax on clothing or shoes under $110. items over $110 are subject to the state sales tax of 4.375%. this is not specific to manhattan, it holds true for the entire friggin state because there was no nyc tax outside of nyc (duh). also there are 5 boroughs of nyc.
