Cotton/denim seems like the newest eco-friendly insulation trend. Who knew?

Our cotton insulation is made from 100% recycled materials such as cotton and other natural fibers. Our cotton insulation is made from trimmings from the Denim manufacturing industry which are usually dumped in landfills. Upon collecting them, the trimmings are cleaned, cut, and re-fiberized. A fire retardant is added to the fibers before they are combined into cotton batts. Our cotton insulation is not manufactured using Formaldehyde or other chemical irritants.

It's not exactly a new thing...

From Jeans a cultural history of an American Icon by James Sullivan:

"Denim consitutes between 20 and 30 percent of each bill Americans spend, and it's near purity as a cotton product makes it well suited to the money making process. Only the synthetic indigo dyestuffs must be removed"
