Need help with blazers

I look at blazers and see so many different colors and materials it gets intimidating lol. I don't really know about how to match them, and if they're even possible to pull off casually. Really casually, I'm talking about jeans and a t-shirt here. I've seen some people pull this off pretty nicely IMO... but then again I'm really not that fashion knowledgeable so....

I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking for here. Just inform a new guy about blazers I guess.

I've done a few searches around the boards but I didn't find any topic that covered this. If there is one, my apologies.

they are generally more conservative so i wouldnt recommend asking them about wearing one with anything but pants and a shirt, but styleforum.net is infinitely more useful with general information about blazers.
