What to pack?

I'm going on a trip to DC in 3 days. I'll be there for 7 days, 6 nights.

What are the essentials to pack (and how much of everything)?

aka, 7 pairs of underwear, etc etc?

Where are you gonna be staying? Is there anything specific you're planning on doing?

It gets hot and humid as hell here so bring light and comfortable clothes, especially if you plan on doing some outdoors stuff. It's been pretty rainy this summer and afternoon thunerstorms do pop up so bring an umbrella or a waterproof shell if you have one.

I would only bring a few t-shirts and one or two pairs of pants and something just incase it rains or it gets cool out.

Even if you get something fucked up when you're out, you can always bring it to a nearby laundromat.

I'm staying with friends the entire time. I don't have anything special planned. Good call on the rain jacket, I would've forgotten that.

So far, as far as clothing goes, I have the following:

1 hardshell jckt

1 pair of jeans

1 pair of shorts

1 pair of chinos

7 pairs of underwear

7 pairs of socks

boat shoes

vans

3 button downs

Still need to figure out tshirts..

I figured I should bring some fancy, going out clothing in case I go to a club/bar with a dress code.

I'm trying to fit into a carry on suitcase, so I may have to drop the shoes to just boots + vans..

its not like oh no what if you piss your pants/poop accidently/get your period unexpectedly (but you're a guy so that shouldn't matter) but it never hurts to bring more underwear.
