Wearing a red/white shemagh in Morocco - offensive?

Hi all

I'm off to Morocco at the end of the month and will be doing a trek in the Atlas mountains, which I expect to be pretty chilly.

I was planning on taking my shemagh as it does a great job keeping warm and would be useful.

However, I don't want to cause offense to anyone as I realise it has significant religous connotations. It's a red/white one.

Does anyone have any experience with that? I'm not interested in whether its fashionable or anything like that, so please don't have a pop on that level.

Thanks

J

wearing a shemagh is offensive to anyone who cares what you look like
not only do those things make you look like an asshole, if you dont know the cultural implications and history of what youre wearing, you are an asshole

You're welcome, fndmybetterhalf.
