I love darker early neue deutsche welle stuff like DAF, Der Plan, etc. I'm not aware really of the things that followed in the wake of such groups, but I also love a lot of the early minimal synth stuff (Polyphonic Size, etc)

Lately Dark Day's Exterminating Angel LP has been getting a ton of play for me. Cold, minimal electro from the keyboard player on the first few DNA releases. Chromatics recently covered a track from their first single, "Hands in the Dark," so hopefully that will spark a bit more interest, as that first LP is pretty killer.

i don't know what half of the genres mean because i'm more of an ecclectic download whore than a scene follower, but i dig noisy/glitchy or ambient stuff ranging from tarmvred, mono no aware, kknull, converter, to aki onda, vainio vaisanen vega/pansonic, to fennesz, proem, hototogisu, loscil, porn sword tobacco, whatever

who is coh?

I've been looking for some mekanik commando, would you recommend?

I only know a bit of COH's raster-noton releases, don't know if there's been any other labels. I really like 'patherns', quite rhythmical evolving loops. If you like signal this ep is a bit like it but less restricted, sonically

Mekanik Kommando, go for the early stuff - they went a bit soft later ('snake is queen' is good though). The first ep then lp were the best, I think.

Have a listen to 'dancing elephants', track on there called 'stop and play' stands out (just googled it and the first result is a blog linking to it)

Then 'it would be quiet in the woods', good tracks on there but the 2nd - 'microbes' - stands out for me (looks like you can get it from the same blog). Let me know what you think.

Yep. I live in Detroit as of. I'm not quite sure how you knew that. Maybe it states it somewhere. I doubt that I know you though. I'm not a frequent of any club/group or anything. Happen to have a myspace?
