Doom, I have the sd300 (the 4 MP one) and I love it..I had the s400 before it and switched because of the size....

Picture quality is great, if not better than the s400, and it has more features.....I assume the sd500 would have all of the features of the sd300, and I think it might even have a better processor...

I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a compact digicam.

the sd 500 goes for 649 canadian. would you know if it will come down in price? also your camera uses cf, right?

If you're willing to wait, boxing day's a good time to buy that stuff at futureshop/bestbuy...or else, ebay has some good deals sometimes where the seller includes a memory card...

and no, my camera uses SD cards...the S-series used the CF cards whereas the SD-series uses sd cards...
