So my band is thinking about relocating to California. Do any of you have some knowledge to impart as far as:

Best cities to live/play rock music in?

Where are people excited about music?

What kind day jobs do you have?

What ways do you connect with other musicians (organizations, unions, etc.)?

Do you rent practice space or rehearse where you live?

Places to avoid?

More generally:

Can you recommend some good online sources for information about living and working in CA?
