It was supposed to be about good names with bad music, but then it became a thread where everyone made boring posts.

I think one of the most Fitting Band Names I've heard in a while would have to be A Place to Bury Strangers. Their name sounds exactly like their music and it's a good name besides.

I don't think I agree with mellowbonsai about what constitutes good names OR good music.

I like Vampire Weekend a lot, though I'll admit they look like twats in their video. I'm dismayed that I'm having to deal with hype backlash before the album is even out.

should have put more thought into their names.

then there's number bands, with the exception of the number corresponding to the format of the band (MC5 is a good example).

sentense band names that are not well thought out and only waste of space (ie: no use for a name, clap your hands say yeah)

cliche band names that lack originality ("the <insert last name here>s", "whatever city something rather", bands who named themselves from famous song titles).

on a side note, i think someone should start a band called "FREE BEER", which will definitely trick many people into coming to their shows.

I really like Architecture In Helsinki, their music and name. The honest reason I ever even heard of them was because their name was rather interesting. D: It fits for their music style anyway.
