i still can't get over how crazy and successful A Bathing Ape has become in North America. Just in '98 I was rocking a Bape hoodie with the old skool logo and everyone in my north american high school would chuckle and make fun of this asian kid's 'engrish' or 'fob' hoodie because the words didn't make any sense to them.

It's like watching a brand only a very select few wore become crazy huge in a short period of time. Damn, still can't get over it. It feels so random a brand like this became big.

Word. My friend is a long time lover of BAPE (despite the uproar in popularity) because of Nigo's genius marketing. Does anybody remember Bapepsi? That was fucking insane...people paying a shit load for Pepsi X Bape collabo! Stamp Bape on dog shit and people will still "cop."

Bape blew up like crazy in the US because Pharrell, jay z, etc, etc rocked Bape everywhere. I was at the Recon sale and these kids waited in line to get Bape stuff and then walked out because the Bape stuff didn't have "A BATHING APE" across the shirt.
