Denim Repair In Vancouver

I've never heard of darning before, but I take my stuff to this guy and it's always worked out well for alterations and fixing little tears and things, I guess you could ask him how his darning skills are...

Great! Thanks for the tip, I'll give Albert a try.

For the record, darning is a traditional stitch for repairing worn or torn fabrics. It ends up looking like a fine zig-zag pattern keeping your stuff together. You can see an example here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darning, and a specific description here: http://web.archive.org/web/20060217005245/www.45rpm.jp/denim/detail.jsp?id=011〈=en

Thanks again!

  • 4 years later...

I took my jeans to Albert and he did *not* darn them. he put a patch over the blown out crotch and admittedly did a great job of sewing it on, including reinforcing the seams and sewing over the hole, but he clearly did not 'darn'.

A bit disappointing, i'll admit, especially on my $400 PBJs =/
