They are great shoes in the way of materials and construction. Really when I look at the designs all I can think is they are a mix of swear and common projects. However I do like those hi-tops.

who?,

if i wear a 41 in cp, how should i size for genericman sportsman model??

do you know if they share the same soles as any other reputable show brand?

Shit I wish I could remember the sizing, I think they ran a little big, like a half size. Keep in mind that the A/W line has different soles then the S/S line. The S/S line uses the same soles as cp and lanvin so if you are getting the sportmans from the S/S collection then get the size you wear in cp.

Here was a email that I received from Brandon at The Generic Man

back in August.

"The Sportsman range from $285 to $325 depending on leather/suede -

The Tuxman will be $275 - with the eggplant patent at $330 - The

Golfers are $265 - The Naval ranges from $270 to $315

The Sportsman Naval and Golfers are out now. This was our first

season and we only sold to a few select stores. The Tuxman will not

be delivered until Jan 08 but our store list will be extensively larger.

If you would like to purchase the Golfer or Sportsman a store in San

Francisco called Gimme Shoes would be happy to do mail order for you.

http://gimmeshoes.com/

We may not be on the site yet but you can call them and they will

help you out. As well as a store in NYC called OAK will have them in

Oct.

Our on-line shop will not be up until Oct but we are taking pre-orders

for a Oct delivery. We take a 50% deposit then charge the rest when we

ship from LA but you also get a 10% discount.

Anyways, as I said AW07 was a small first season to get our sourcing

and production down and SS08 we have many more accounts lining up

world wide."

Their hi-top sneakers are nice but absolutely not worth the price. The rest of their shoes are whack.

why are they not worth the price? could you please tell me your idea of a great sneaker that is actually worth it?

or were you just looking for a creative way to say you're poor?

probably the latter. tried the white leather with fawn suede ankle.

for comparison,

im a 43 in bernhard willhelm hi tops

42 in common projects

9 or 9.5 in adidas

the 41.5 fit me the best.

the shoe is constructed impeccably and should end up sitting alongside common projects as a go-to clean, simple, high-end sneaker.

thanks for the info. i actually just noticed that you take a 9-9.5 in adidas. for lack of better examples i find that adidas run about .5cm bigger then nike. sorry for the hassle, but what styels of adidas do you run a 9.5 in? i have those b.w.'s in white. i assume you're talking about the inverted laces ones, right? i bought them in a 42 and they run big on me.

eu half sizing always fucking confuses me!! cause if a 41=8.5 and a 42=9 what the fuck is a 41.5?? 41 is about 26.5cm and 42 is about 27, right??

the common projects sizing always confuses me to. i had confidence in having a superior sizing knowlege in them for smaller sizes, but if you wear a 42 in cp and different in other shoes i am baffled again. i always found cp to run true to size...

i dunno, how do you like your shoes to run?

thanks alot!!

Personally, I don't mind my shoes running slightly small. But when my footwear is too big .. it's just the most uncomfortable situation to me.

It's like nothing can fix the fact that there's too much space in the sneaker .. not tigthening the laces, wearing extra socks .. it's just too uncomfortable no matter what.

cp, in my opinion, runs a tiny bit bigger than usual.

a 43 white laceless slip on was big on me, and even

the 42 is a little loose if i wear very thin dress socks.

perfect fit in thicker wool socks or [ick] white cotton socks.

the inverted lace willhelms fit me very well in a size 43.

couldnt complain about them at all. not tight, not loose.

as far as adidas, i would say it isnt that i am a 9.5 but i

have found myself comfortable in 9.5 adidas in the past.

usually hi top models that were tightly laced. maybe this

accounts for them 'fitting' well?

if i remember correctly, i was wearing achilles mids in size 42

when i tried these on. the achilles mids fit me snug around the widest

part of the foot, but not painfully or irritatingly so. the rest of the shoe

is perfect.

i was wearing wool socks, and the generics fit snug in a 41.5, but not

uncomfortable. the 42 was also comfortable, but i felt like i had too much

room in the toe. the shape of the toe is a wider than shoes i am currently

used to, and i was concerned about a floppy clown shoe effect when walking...

It's simply a difference of opinion jmatsu, don't take it too hard.

If you want to show you're a baller why not go for Lanvin or Raf?

I'm liking the black as night sportsman. Retail?

i also dig the AW07 black sportsman.. fyi, the sportsman's retail around 285-300 depending on materials used in the particular style.

the shoe is constructed impeccably and should end up sitting alongside common projects as a go-to clean, simple, high-end sneaker.

yup, i co-sign that, although currently i still like cp's more..
