vidal sassoon has an apprentice program where they will cut hair for FREE. it takes about two hours and it's done under the supervision of a pro. these apprentices are not people who have just started cutting hair. the apprenticeship program is basically a job where you have to apply to get in. i believe after about two years they graduate to become a pro stylist at the salon.

anyway all the times are during weekdays. you can give them a call or look up vidal sassoon on facebook and find the toronto groups. three names i know are paolo covello, steve kwok, and amanda-jean penny.

i had a cut from paolo a while ago and it was one of the best cuts i've gotten.

there is also the aveda institute academy on king street and church street where you can get a student cut for 35$.

house of lords on yonge just south of bloor is very very hit-and-miss. i have gotten my hair cut by april there; she's not bad. it's 15$ for guys.
