very random question about visvim fbt2

just out of curiosity ... how is the suede "skirt" attached to the shoe? is it removable?

or is it one-piece construction with the rest of the boot body? (if this is the case, no wonder it's $250!)

asking because i'm considering hand-tooling something similar for clark's wallabees.

it's pretty hard to tell from pictures like this: (http://www.grandism.com/data/images/full/20050622-150223-z750.jpg) what's going on ... anybody with a pair / who's seen a pair care to shed some light on it?

so, they are tied on left/right, at the top eyelets, and twice at the back?

are they affixed in any other way you know about?

Tied to the shoe at the back. No other attachments (the other hanging laces are just for decoration) apart from where the laces loop through at the very front.

thanks!!! i was all hot to buy a pair but i found out my feet are too big!! (i wear us 12-13) ... sort of looking at sourcing material for this project to match a pair of wallabees ...

but on a related-to-visvims note ... on the generic moccasin tip ...

thanks hahnstch! i grabbed a pair from livestock because cmonwealth was out of black leathers. garry @ livestock is a real nice guy and hooked me up - everybody go buy shoes from him!
