hemming a bootcut?

I've got a pair of 5EP lowdown bootcuts that I need to remove about an inch and a half from, but I'm concerned that hemming them will mess with the shape of the leg. Anyone have experience with hemming bootcut jeans? The difference between knee and hem on these is very small, so I'm hoping it won't matter.

it comes down to having a good tailor. If up to the knee is straight, then it flares slightly at the bottom, a tailor can bring it in slightly so that the width at the knee is the same as at the hem. only a good tailor can do this, and there is potential to mess up here

I would leave it personally since 5EP boot cut is barely booot cut at all
