Ebay related issues!!

Guys,

I've sold an item on ebay, honest description and pics...;

Buyer paid for the item with Western Union, so that's fine BUT...after receiving the item(sent by EMS) he now claims that the item doesn't fit the description, the description was misleading in his opinion, and he claims he'd not have placed a bid if it wasn't.

He's asking for a refund of his payment..

I totally disagree, since the listing was completely honest and will not pay him back...I think the guy just changed his mind and is trying to get his payment back!

Damn I hate this, damn ebay!!

So what do you guys think that will happen, what will ebay do to me?

Does anybody have some experience with this kind of issues?

Thanks

can we see the auction though man ? and what specifically is he saying did not match the descrip/photos etc ??

FYI eBay can't do shit or I don't think so anyways except ask you for your side . Paypal could've and would've because they are quick to pull the trigger and almost always find in favor of a buyer no matter what .

Well see how it plays out I guess . I mean don't be too mad cause if you have to refund him not like it wont sell again right ? I assume it was fairly nice .

I remember I bought this SICK FUCKING LAMBSKIN/Sheepskin jacket from a high end men's shop here for like $1200 . on sale ugh .

It was BLACK lamb ( not dyed )

The outside was the wool so buttery soft and the inside was the skin .

Fully reversible hidden seams blah blah ..

I had that jacket like 6 years wore it almost every other day thru 3 winter months and on occasion at night during fall/spring months ..

Never a tear rip etc and when I was finally tired of it sold it on eBay for $900 woot woot .

lady got it like OMFG my husband is going to LOVE this ..

Then all of a sudden I realized I wanted my damn coat back .............

: going to cry : I MISSS YOU BLACK LAMMMMMYYYYY wahhhhh

Like numero said, just wait and see what ebay says. You're not selling fake shit (at least, I hope not) and as you said, your description was honest, so I don't think the buyer has much to go on.

And if any mods are reading this, can this thread be stickied somewhere? Seems like there are ebay complaint threads popping up all the time, so it might be good to have all complaints/feedback go under one thread.

if he paid by Western Union, he is fucked, as they say. Ebay could suspend your account only if you said you would do returns in your listing (you have to specify returns or no returns for every listing), so you can weigh what value that is to you. It would mean nothing to me though, I would let them cancel me.

Overall, it sounds like pure buyers remorse. I would try to get the buyer to understand that you are not a department store and you cant return something on buyers remorse.

Also if you do decide to accept it, refund only the purchase price, and have him pay for return shipping.

'That's exactely my point of view...buyers remorse!!

I stated on the listing " All sales are final" and the buyer paid with Western Union, so he keeps busting my balls about it....

Damn I haet ebay for that...

I could indeed have posted in the Ebay idiots thread!!

if you have decent feedback and you said all sales are final, I think ebay will side with you. Even if they rule against you, I dont think they can take the WU money back. They will just close your ebay account.

Here's an example where I won: I sold a vintage turntable, I offered shipping insurance, but the buyer was cheap and he declined insurance. It arrived damaged. i did not dispute that it was damaged, I only said I couldnt do anything because he declined to insure it. After an arbitration, I won. He left neg feedback anyway. Still, I was in the right and ebay/paypal saw that.

Lastly, you have to weigh all your options. you might hate this guy right now but in the long run maybe its better to allow the return. Just have him pay for shipping both ways and refund the purchase price only. You can probably sell it again for the same price. In my example Im a stubborn guy and I dont like cheapskates so I stuck to principle. But I could have gone either way.
