Dyeing Leather Bag Black?

i have always used fiebings leather dyes. great stuff. just make sure you get proper care products for it afterward as initial dying can start to dry leather out with the alcohol content.

you can usually get a couple shades of brown and black at any hobby lobby and sometimes michaels, so its easy to come by. sometimes feeder supply stores also carry it.

sam79london : Please let us know how it goes.

mlproject : have you tried this on shoes? Does the dye work on the edges of the sole? For example I have some tan shoes with a similarly light coloured sole. I'd like to darken the tan upper, but then I'd still be left with the light coloured sole/edge...

analog .. i have dyed a few pairs of boots with this before. if the sole is leather or any other pourus material, it will stain it.

this shit is pretty ruthless, so i'd try it away from any parts you don't want dyed before going close to parts you want untouched so you can get a feel for how it absorbs and spreads. also, wear gloves as it will stain your skin for a good week or so. (ie good for graffiti as well...)
