Suggestions for new shoes?

I'm planning to buy a new pair of shoes very soon, but I really need some assistance to picking which type of shoes I should purchase (and i thought what better place to ask than here). I am used to wearing Vans, Converse, and such, but, this time, I'd like to try something different: something like dress shoes/boots type of shoes but very casual at the same time. I just felt like I want to own shoes that I could wear to both school and special occasions and whatnot. I'm just not experience when it comes to shopping for shoes and I'd really appreciate some help. thanks.

idk about dressshoe/boots but if youre into converse and vans, Pf Flyers is a good alternative. Pf Flyers Number 5, awesome shoes.
