Duty costs on buying jeans from Japan?

I'm buying my first pair of jeans from Japan and they're around 178 USD. Does anyone know if I will have to pay import tax? How expensive does this usually run?

when i bought through celga for a pair of lad musician's, they charged me $37 and some change.

if you order through a service, make sure to tell them to mark the price down (a lot).

ask them to mark it to $20USD for the package. And you shouldnt have to pay any ridiculous amount of tax.

if they wont lower down then choose other services that will.

Marking down the value of the goods is tax avoidance and some shops I notice, totally refused to do so. Also by marking down, the insured value will also be based on it.

As to the exact tax payable, that will clearly be based on the State's tax rate for such goods. Unless there is a general tax for the whole of USA.
