OG brand loyalty

I always seem to have brand loyalty to the oringiator in a catergory, or if not the originator, the brand upon which a product is tied to.

An example of this would be preferring coke over pepsi. Or the association of the fitted cap with New Era exclusively, despite declining quality.

I dont really like it when brands totally copy the concept or exact shape of an item and simply re-brand it.

Any shoes that look like chucks but are 3x the price come to mind. Bape and the AF1 shape ripoff is another.

Did vans originate the canvas slipon? dont know if they did , but id rather get vans slipons, despite other brands like visvim or gucci doing their own take.

i also have the same buying habits.

with my aviators and wayfarers, i bought ray-bans.

for plaid, i stuck with pendleton.

for my trenchcoat, i bought london fog. burberrys way too expensive.

for my m65, i stuck with the original military one. its probably from a dead guy.

most of my clothes, in fact, are original military issue.
