Im heading back to Melbourne after 5 years in Tokyo and Seoul...I`ll be there for a super-short trip from Nov 2 - Nov 10. Any tips on where I should go to hang out with friends? Whats new in Melbourne?What are the current hot spots? As Im a native I know all the standard places but if there is anything particularly "now" or not so well-known - any tips? Best places to see street art? Any new little laneways in the city generating a buzz? Cool new stores?According to friends so far Ive got:- Check out the Curtin Building in Carlton with Brazilian clothing store "Order and Progress". Running an openair rooftop movie theater for summer-Degraves Street (an old fave of mine)-Container Bar - Berlin-style "temporary" bar operating out of a shipping container in Chinatown alley- Footscray area developing into a "Little Ethiopia" district-Vietnamese food in Victoria Street - something I always do in Melbourne...-Other tips? Whats happening with Docklands? Any funky new nightlife options I know about (gay? straight and funky?) Neighborhoods that are up and coming?
