501XX Shrink-To-Fit: USA Made compared to Global Made

Recommended Posts

I've been noticing that the USA made 501XX STF (Shrink-To-Fit) shrink up much better compared to the 501XX STF that are made in Colombia, South Africa, Dominican Republic, and even Mexico. With the globally made 501XX it seems I could buy the same size that I wear in the 501 Preshrunk. I keep waiting for them to shrink up, but they are still baggy/loose on me. I think the length may have shrunk a little (not 3"), but the waist is still big. Is this the fabric, or possibly the cut?

Has anyone else noticed this?

I wash them both the same in hot water, and dry on high heat for the first washing. After that, I wash inside-out in cold water, and dry on high heat for like 80 minutes. I think the globally made 501XX STF have reached their limit on shrinkage and will just remain loose fitting.

I am wondering if I should start buying the 501XX STF in my Preshrunk size?

Also, my most recent purchase of 501XX STF, NO longer carry the "XX" on the waist tag. They now just say 501. I believe these were made in either Colombia or Dominican Republic. Is this the new label?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

YES. MY SHRUNK ONLY 2 IN LENGTH AND JUST A LITLE IN WAIST.

ADD 2 INCHES TO LENGTH.

XX IS STILL THERE.

However, some of them has only circle R on the red tub???
