Line to Debut At Holiday 2006

SAN FRANCISCO (August 2, 2006) - Levi Strauss & Co. today announced it has entered into a licensing relationship with Canadian-based Algo Group to manufacture and sell home furnishings including bedding, comforters, duvet covers, sheets and decorative accessories along with window treatments and throw rugs under the Levi's® brand name in the United States. The Levi’s® Home collection will be designed with the Levi’s® brand’s distinctive, authentic jeanswear attitude and detailing. The collection will be ideal for use at home and in college dorm rooms.

The product line will debut at the New York Home Textile Market Week held August 4-10, 2006. Levi’s® Home products will be available Holiday 2006 in better home specialty and department stores.

they made a Levi's edition Gremlin in the 70's, they sell Levi's luggage on eBags (none of which is made of denim at all), home stuff doesn't sound too crazy to me. It might not be good news, but I don't see how it's bad news. That's business.

i mean as long as they aproach it with that same sense of sticking to the basics adn efficiency i think it m ight turn out to be pretty good.
