Stretch Denim in Soluble Starch?

I've ordered some Cheap Monday Overdyed Black jeans to cushion my lust for some Dior Hommes (i'm skint). I was going to get the Raw version, but becuase of the shitty material I ended up not.

The material is really soft, and therefore they don't bunch very well. My plan is either do a full wash in soluble starch, or to soak the bottom half, or the whole of the jean a starch solution in order to get some rigidness which would enable them to bunch better.

Does anyone have any experice with this, or have any preconceptions of whether this is a good/bad idea. What do you guys think?

Cheers.

i would just spray them like a mofo.. let them flat, spray them and then put them on and let it dry.. then repeat until you get the desired stiffness. This way you can monitor it, without having to rinse them. You will likely need two bottles of starch IMO.

If you put minimal water into the tub - just enough to cover the jeans like bottom half ( inch or so of water ) then dump one container of liquid starch in - mix up good and lay the jeans in with slight agitation over an hour or so you should be good ..

Flip up to soak " the other side " and same as above and let um drip dry hung by the cuffs ...
