Evisu stuff...

Hey guys..been a passive obsrver most of the time

I got some Evisu No.1 Specials...where the jerky patch says Special No.1 and its got the real selvedged stuff

I know what No.1 means but I'm just not sure about the Special bit. Anyone know what it is?

And shrinking...The thighs are nice and relaxed but could use a little more shrinkage. Are they meant to be baggy?

And when soaked, the run off was this weird yellow with slight tinge of blue. I used raw sugar as a starch on a different pair and came out as the same colour. Could it be possible this is they use raw sugar for raw denim?

I dont think the brownish/yellow color in the water is sugar. Its most likely starch. I think that all the No1 jeans from Evisu has the "No1 Special" written on the leather patch. My pair has it and all of the No1's I've seen on Rakuten also has this.

About shrinking, If you've only soaked them they will shrink a bit more if you machine wash them hot (60*C). I know this from experience. It depends on the cut if the jeans are supposed to be baggy. But most of Evisu's cuts tend to be kinda loose/baggy.

Oh yeh and something kinda nooby...mine says lot 0101...which I dont seem to find anywhere else.

Is this a different model or the same thing as the 200x series?

I have the same model. It is pretty baggy. According to rakuten its supposed to be a vintage cut from the 40s http://translate.google.com/translate?sourceid=navclient-menuext&hl=en&u=http%3A//www.rakuten.co.jp/kobori//153170/319180/ . The lot number ( i.e 2000, 2001, 0101) just describes how the cut is. 0101 is pretty baggy. 2001 is the classic evisu cut. A fuller cut that tapers at the bottom, and the 2000 cut is pretty slim.
