Anyone know how to check Lacoste?

I just picked up a lacoste polo for about 60$ online and I was wondering with all the fakes circulating on ebay and forum sellers, how do you check its authenticity? Are the real ones only made in France/Peru? Thanks in advance guys.

i wouldn't worry too much over the authenticity of the polo, but rather, worry why you'd buy it for $60 online when they cost roughly the same in department stores.

Hah I guess I fall into the Eurotrash category but what puzzles me is that the one I received looks exactly like this one on ebay:

I mean, even the details the seller has matches up with the polo I have. For example, the Devanlay on the care tag, the size tag, etc. Does this mean this seller is selling authentic Lacoste at like...$15-20 ?? Can anyone tell me?

I have a couple of Lacoste shirts from the Lacoste shop here in Toronto (and I'm neither Eurotrash or a fratboy, oddly enough) and they're very similar to the one pictured in that auction. The details the sellers mentions are correct, and his shirt looks authentic to me.

Not sure how he's able to sell them at such cheap prices, though. Sometimes factories will produce extra and sell them off on the side for cheap, I've heard.

well with the feedback the seller has, i'm hoping she is sending the real thing. i asked for extra pics of the shirt in the auction and she sent me pics of the buttons, devanlay tag and size tags as i requested. I'm pretty convinced she's an authentic seller and I can't resist the prices!!
